Working with Difficult People - Issues and Methods

Post  kokjts on Tue Sep 09, 2008 11:56 am

"Working with difficult people is a challenge for us all, whether we are students, teachers or parents."
1. What are some of these issues?
2. How can we learn to work with difficult people to create a win-win outcome?

Any starters?

Nice topic. I think lot's of info we can get from internet. This is just one of it, type or go to google and find:
literacy.kent.edu/salt_fork/work_people/index.html

Or if you don't mind, can come to counselling room for sharing and see how can we work it out together.

Working with difficult people

Indeed so, there are ample literature on the net as well as through books. We can develop knowledge through this process. Knowledge gives us the POWER but does not necessarily empower us with the SKILLS in working through conflicts.

In our life experiences, we still hear about individual/s suffering from psychological disturbances following each episode of conflict. In education, how are these conflict/s managed? Is the outcome a win-win for all? If the answer is 'YES' then we need to further reinforce this excellence in practice. If it is a 'NO' this thread will be a good starting point for such a discussion.

Our personal and professional growth is a lifelong learning process. Any such learning will be of benefit to this learning process and for the development of excellence in practice.
